Tens of thousands of fans have made the short journey from Germany across the border to Basel for tonight's UEFA EURO 2008™ semi-final with Turkey and have been greeted with a musical accompaniment through the city's streets.
Great atmosphere
Yeti are a band from Lake Constance and have been following the Germany team throughout the tournament drumming up a great atmosphere for their country's games in Klagenfurt. "We have been doing it since the [FIFA] World Cup in Germany," said group member Jochen Sigg. "It really went off there too, but the fans in Basel today are really in the party mood. We're really enjoying it, and we'll play until we drop." A sentiment perhaps shared by the players in the last-four meeting at St. Jakob-Park. Sigg is of course hoping that it's Germany who will come out on top tonight so that Yeti can move on to Vienna and keep entertaining the fans ahead of the final.
