Host Broadcast Operations will be responsible for the TV pictures of UEFA EURO 2008™ that are transmitted throughout the world.
Some 700 people will be involved in producing TV coverage over a four-week period. A minimum configuration of 22 cameras will cover all of the group matches. Furthermore Host Broadcast Operations are planning the integration of a variety of different special cameras. The opening match, semi-finals and final will have further enhanced camera coverage.
The International Broadcast Centre (IBC) in Vienna will serve as the international nerve centre, with some 10,000 square metres of production and office space available to the UEFA EURO 2008™ Broadcast Partners.
Each of the 31 games at UEFA EURO 2008™ will be watched by at least 150 million TV viewers worldwide. Reports from Portugal in 2004 totalled 28,378 hours on 234 different channels - an incredible increase of 165 per cent on UEFA EURO 2000™.
In terms of TV viewing figures, UEFA EURO 2008™ will be topped only by the 2006 FIFA World Cup final round in Germany, and the estimated advertising value from media reporting for both Austria and Switzerland will easily pass €400m.
